Dear Alice,

My boyfriend and I have been living together for over a year. For the last few months, whenever we go to bed, he puts his penis inside me, whether we had sex that night or not, and leaves it there all night. We usually sleep spooning. Is this normal or healthy? We are both twenty-one, and I’m on birth control.

I’m amazed that not one, but TWO people can remain so still while sleeping that the penis remains in the vagina for the entire night. It’s mystifying. Doesn’t it slip out once it shrivels up? Your boyfriend sounds like a very unusual male, to say the least. Just because you’re on birth control doesn’t mean you can’t get pregnant. Peeing after sex is very important. This behavior could indeed give you both infections, and him, a rash. And then there’s the possibility of getting your knickknacks all glued together with dried-up sex gruel. Doesn’t sound like fun to me.
