It’s a September to remember at Paddy’s Comedy Club!

Back in 2014, I was running a comedy show at a bar on Santa Monica Boulevard in Los Angeles when my co-producer booked comedian Chris Cope. Chris had recently transplanted himself from Gainesville, Florida, to Los Angeles, and it didn’t take long to realize this guy was funny. Really funny. I had a feeling he would go places and since performing at my show, he’s gone on to appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Grey’s Anatomy, CONAN, and Netflix’s Cooking on High. His Dry Bar Comedy special has racked up over 6 million views. Not bad for a guy from Gainesville.
After Gatorade, I’d say Chris Cope is probably the second-best thing to ever come out of that town. Although, technically, I met my wife there in 2015, so Chris may have slipped to third. Wait. Tom Petty was from Gainesville, too. Okay, Chris is at least one of the funniest people to ever crawl out of the swamp. And you can see for yourself when Chris Cope performs at Paddy’s on September 3rd. Come join us for a night of big laughs, great stories, and proof that sometimes wonderful things really do emerge from the Florida swamp.
Then, on September 17, we’ve got Josh Sneed, and if you’ve spent any time watching comedy on Comedy Central, listening to SiriusXM, or falling down the rabbit hole of comedy clips online, there’s a pretty good chance you’ve already encountered him. Josh is a nationally touring headliner who has appeared on Comedy Central, Last Comic Standing, and the prestigious Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal that I just returned from. He was also selected to perform at the inaugural South Beach Comedy Festival. In other words, this is a comedian who has accumulated enough comedy festival credentials to make the rest of us feel like we should probably start paying attention. And people have definitely been paying attention.
Josh’s Dry Bar Comedy special, Josh Sneed: Live in the Dessert, has generated more than 60 million views through its online clips. That’s a lot of eyeballs. He also finished second out of 100 comedians in Comedy Central’s Annual Stand-up Showdown Competition and released his album Unacceptable on Comedy Central Records, which iTunes selected as one of the Top 10 comedy albums of the year. His follow-up album, Unsung Hero, also shot to the top of the iTunes comedy chart. Josh has shared the stage with some pretty impressive names, including Dave Chappelle, Bill Burr, Jim Gaffigan, Ron White, and Kevin Hart. Come see a comedian who has performed on some of the biggest stages in comedy and is bringing all that experience to our little corner of the world. And as always, come ready to laugh.
