Welcome to Paddy’s House

BY Patrick Gibney

House Party - /ˈhaʊs ˌpɑːti/ - (according to Google) - is a social gathering held at a private home. In traditional or formal terms, it refers to guests staying overnight or for several days at a residence. In modern casual use, it often means an evening party with music and drinks attended by friends and acquaintances.

Over the past nineteen years, the “Pubside” of Paddy’s has changed significantly, as have the people who frequent it. Thankfully, we’ve always been malleable enough to change with the times, recover from devastating fires and pandemics, and continue to develop as an artistic and business entity.

On St. Patrick’s Day, 2017, Paddy’s opened The Church Entertainment Lounge. This beautiful space allowed us to explore a different direction, artistically, as well as providing a space big enough to have a comedy club and host events like Art Attack, Trivia, and Dancing. It’s been a tremendous success. Paddy’s Comedy Club is finally starting to shine. It’s been gratifying seeing a full house almost every Thursday. Art Attack has proved to be a beautiful addition to our community at large, and we are so grateful to be a part of something so cool. And Trivia, along with our Saturday night dance lessons have been attracting all kinds of nice people. But The Church on Friday and Saturday nights has been an overwhelming success. However, that success has changed the nature of the “Pubside” of the venue on those two nights.

That’s where the whole Paddy’s House Party idea came from. Because that’s what it feels like on the Paddy’s Pubside every Friday and Saturday – it feels like a cool, laidback house party. It never gets too crowded for too long, and it’s a chance to have a craft cocktail and relax for a while in a plush environment. On Friday’s, we have a DJ spinning sounds to fit the vibe, and on Saturday’s, we have a live band creating an even different vibe. In addition, we have Dueling Pianos every third Saturday of every other month. You can’t go wrong.

On a recent Friday night, the Paddy’s House Party DJ was our lighting technician, David Perry. It was his first ever DJ ‘BMoreNoble’ gig. You will be seeing a lot more of David, along with a few other new, up and coming DJs. Everyone at Paddy’s wishes David the best of luck in his DJ career.
