Dear Alice,
I have been out on several dates with this woman, and I’ve really fallen for her. The only problem is, when I told her how I felt, she told me that she had just slept with her ex-boyfriend the night before. She apologized and said she didn’t think I was into her that much. She said that she really wants to date me, but I can’t get her ex out of my head. What should I do?

Grow up and get over it. People are not mind readers. How is she supposed to know how you feel if you didn’t make sure she knew where you stood? Everyone has a few skeletons in their closet, Jon. I’m sure you’ve stepped in a pile of shite yourself a time or two. If she’s a good woman and she’s being sincere, accept her apology, apologize to her, and stop being a big girl’s blouse.
