Dear Alice,
The lead singer of a local rock band that I like is a left-wing loudmouth, especially on social media. On top of that, he has asked me out on a date. How am I supposed to deal with this and still like his music?

There’s only one thing worse than ideology and that’s ideologs. Talk to him about it and try to find some common ground. There may be some intelligence and individual thought in there somewhere. Otherwise, run for the hills and don’t look back. People like that are mentally ill. Keep in mind however, there is often a big difference between the art and the artist.
